Sunday Volunteers – Richard Jefferies Museum

The Richard Jefferies Museum is owned by Swindon Borough Council and run by the Richard Jefferies Museum Trust (Charity number 1148966).

The museum receives no regular funding from the Council or any other body, with no regular income from anyone else. We all give our time freely because we love the museum and think it is an important and beautiful thing for Swindon, plus we enjoy ourselves when we are there. But we always need help, if you can give a little time… every penny saved really is important to us!

Join our team on Sundays from May through September during our Lazy Summer Sundays! There are a few jobs where we always welcome more volunteers, and there are no age limits or special requirements:

1. Preparing cream teas (ready-made scones), and selling cakes and drinks (hot and cold);

2. Stewards who present a friendly face to museum visitors, helping them find their way through the museum. Please note, the museum is on three floors, with steep stairs;

3. General helping out, by clearing used mugs, plates, and cutlery from the garden, and washing up.

Days and times
12.30pm-3pm, 3pm-5.30pm shifts, Sundays from May through September
