Inclusion in Swindon
Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS) is committed to advancing equality and inclusion in Swindon. To do this, we work closely with Swindon Borough Council (SBC) and across the local voluntary sector which helps us to firstly build networks, raise awareness, and then take action where needed.
We are often asked about reaching out to and engaging with diverse groups and people. As a result of this, you can find the Coalition’s information sheet here: Community Consultation Considerations.

The Inclusion Network Swindon works across the sector to promote the concepts of equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion. (often referred to as EEDI) They have become central to conversations about social cohesion, workplace culture, and community development. Whilst these terms are often used together, they each have distinct meanings and all contribute to the creation of environments where people are respected, valued, and given equal opportunities.
Together, equality, diversity, and inclusion represent the foundational principles of a fair and just society. Most importantly, both understanding and implementation of the concepts will help to break down systemic barriers, promote understanding, and as a result of this create environments where every person has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their differences.
