Local Heroes – LiveWell Swindon

Local Heroes are volunteers who help residents who have no support or means of assistance, with one off tasks. This could mean driving someone to a hospital appointment, helping set up internet shopping, cutting back an overhanging hedge or walking a much-loved dog while the owner recovers from an operation.

Volunteer tasks are wide ranging and there is something to suit everyone. It is also a very flexible way to volunteer if you have limited availability, as tasks can fit around the time you have to give. This type of volunteering also offers you a chance to use any skills you may have in the house or garden, or learn new skills.

We offer our volunteers ongoing support with a monthly newsletter, drop-ins and regular talks and training.

For all our one to one volunteer roles, we ask for the completion of a registration form, two referees and a DBS, which we pay for.
