Community Engagement Fun Day Event

Voluntary Action Swindon are hosting a Community Engagement Fun Day on Thursday 14th August 2025, from 11am – 2.30pm at the Swindon Central Library to bring the public together to learn more about local organisations and services available to them. Organisations will have their own stalls filled with information and a fun activity for families to participate in, with refreshments available to quench their Summer thirst!

The event opens at 11am, with organisations all set up at their stalls, waiting eagerly to talk with their wider community.  This is followed by a day of engagement and participation, with fun activities teaching children and young people about the voluntary sector.

Organisations such as Prospect Hospice will be in attendance, offering volunteering opportunities and much more. Attendees can also enjoy a selection of refreshments, ranging from hot and cold drinks to delicious cakes and snacks.

This event was made possible through the generosity of Amazon collaborating with us, and their community support and dedication.

As Voluntary Action Swindon is a CVS, we support other charities and coordinate voluntary activity in the local area. This means that we regularly like to host events which aid the voluntary sector, as it greatly benefits surrounding organisations. We previously held a Volunteer Recruitment event in mid-January 2025, which was very successful, and we received great feedback from the organisations that attended. Following on from this event, we are using the same style of having organisational stalls, however the target audience is more centred at families.
