Thank You For Your Support

Veterans, Service Providers, and Supporters in Swindon

As we approach the end of another impactful year, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey we’ve shared together in supporting the forces community. Your dedication and commitment have been the bedrock of our success, and we are profoundly grateful for the collaboration that has defined the past twelve months.

A special note of appreciation goes out to the Veterans Foundation, whose generous funding has been instrumental in sustaining the vital role of our Veterans Support Navigator, Katie Linstead. Through her efforts, we have been able to forge meaningful connections within the community, link essential welfare services, and maintain face-to-face interactions during our monthly drop-ins and socials. This has been pivotal in ensuring that our veterans receive the support they need, and we are indebted to everyone for making this possible.

Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust for recognising the value of our work and awarding us funding to deliver our innovative pilot project – woodwork activities with Renew Swindon. This initiative has not only provided therapeutic and engaging experiences but has also created a unique avenue for our veterans to reconnect with their creative selves.

We are particularly grateful for the support of the Zurich Community Trust. The Veterans Christmas Lunch held on Friday, 15th December, was a resounding success, bringing together veterans for a day of joy and camaraderie. The delicious food provided by the Nepalese community at Buckhurst Community Centre, coupled with engaging games and raffle prizes, made it a memorable occasion for all.

As we express our gratitude, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in 2024. With your continued support, we aim to further enhance our services and make a positive impact on the lives of our veterans.

Once again, thank you for standing by us and making a difference in the lives of those who have served our country. Your generosity has not only touched our organisation but has also left a lasting impact on the Swindon forces community.

We extend our warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year. We hope to continue this journey with you and see you again in 2024.

With heartfelt thanks,
Veterans Support Swindon (Voluntary Action Swindon)
