Inspire Swindon Youth Support Worker - Community First

Our highly successful employment programmes support people who are furthest from the labour market with multiple barriers & challenges in their lives and helps them progress into and sustain training, education, and employment outcomes.

Hours: 36.5 hrs per week, flexible working hours, usually within normal office working hours Monday to Friday but may also include occasional evening and weekend work. Applications for part-time working would also be welcome.

Contract: Fixed term contract to the end of March 2025.

Salary: £25,694 gross per annum plus 7% employers pension contribution.        

Location: Offices located in Devizes and Swindon with programme delivery throughout Swindon, including 1:1 outreach

The purpose of the job is to support young people in Swindon who are facing significant barriers & challenges and help them progress into and sustain training, education, and employment.

As part of this, our Building Bridges work will support young people in Swindon who are:

  • Aged 15-18 and at risk of becoming NEET or already NEET
  • Aged 15-18 and engaging with the Swindon Youth Justice Service
  • Aged 19-25 and have an Education, Health and Care Plan
  • Aged 19-25 and are care experienced

 

We are looking for a Youth Support Worker to join our team delivering key working support to participants. The role involves managing a case load of participants, providing practical & emotional support and advocating on their behalf as needed.

The Youth Support Worker will carry out needs assessments, develop individual engagement plans to address barriers and through both one-to-one support and a range of group development activities, increase participants’ confidence, self-esteem, skills and resilience to help them achieve their identified goals.

The role will be fully funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, via Swindon Borough Council.

The role may include some occasional evening and weekend working.

Community First follows Safer Recruitment polices. Due to the nature of the work, this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS, along with relevant background checks, references, a probationary period, and completion of mandatory training requirements
