Uplands Enterprise Trust Showcase Event
Uplands Enterprise Trust is a charity supporting children and young people with special needs and/or disabilities in Swindon. They provide a number of programmes giving opportunities to children and young people with special needs and disabilities to develop existing and create new life and work skills.
The essential skills obtained at Uplands Enterprise Trust, will enable our young people to access a wider range of volunteering and work opportunities and give a meaningful purpose in the local community.
Uplands Enterprise Trust was recently awarded the tender to deliver Short Breaks on behalf of Swindon Borough Council.
Short Breaks provides a family respite service for after school, weekends and school holidays for children and young people with special education needs and disabilities. Children attending Short Breaks have fun experiences where they can try new things in a safe and positive environment providing greater independence and the chance to enhance their life skills.
To highlight the work of Uplands Enterprise Trust and the benefits it has within the community we are holding a showcase event on Thursday 14th October 11.00- 12.30pm at the home of Short Breaks, Upper Shaw Farm, Shaw Ridge, Swindon.
The event will include a welcome presentation , a tour of the facility and the young people from Uplands Enterprise Trust will be serving light refreshments.
The event is being supported by the Vice Lord- Lieutenant of Wiltshire, William Wyldbore-Smith and Robert Buckland MP.
We are looking for individuals or local businesses to support our charity who can offer work placements, volunteering opportunities or funding.
Uplands Enterprise Trust is supported by Brunel Special Education Needs Multi Academy Trust, the trust comprises of a number of special needs provision, including a nursery, 4 schools, a college and out- reach services.
