Celebrating Foster Care Fortnight 2021
This week is the first week of Foster Care Fortnight 2021, which celebrates those involved in foster care and their commitment, passion and dedication to caring for children and young people. This year’s theme is #WhyWeCare which encourages those involved in foster care to share why they care about supporting children and young people through fostering, in the hopes of encouraging more people to become foster carers.
Throughout this week and next, Swindon Borough Council will be sharing stories from foster carers on their Facebook page, as they talk about their experiences and the impact fostering has had on their lives and the lives of the children they look after. In this video for example, Jane, who is a relatively new foster carer, shares her experiences caring for three young children and the way they have enriched her life since becoming part of her family.
If you think you could change the life of a child or young person and would like to find out more about fostering, visit the Council website or attend one of their free, virtual information sessions: www.swindon.gov.uk/fostering #FCF21
