STEP (Swindon) is a voluntary organisation delivering a range of services supporting young people aged 7-25 across Swindon.

They are looking for a vibrant, hardworking individual who works well with young people and has experience within a youth setting.

Your job will be to support and engage young people, including those with emotional and/or behavioural needs and those with special educational needs and disabilities, through delivery of therapeutic group work interventions.

Acting as both supporter and group facilitator, you’ll draw up session plans to assist young people through and beyond the challenges they face, and work with them to enable positive changes to be achieved. You’ll need to have excellent listening and effective communication skills and be confident in both IT and general administration, as liaising with professionals from across health, education and social care as well as young peoples’ families is a core aspect of this role.

Their aim is to enable children and young people to reflect upon their current thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to discover techniques to overcome challenges so they become active and productive members of their families, peer groups, schools and wider communities.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this role.

To apply, or if you would like any further information, please contact Amy Law or one of the Senior Management Team on 01793 714042 or email swindonstep@aol.com

Closing date for applications is 14th May 2021, 12.00pm. We have a two stage interview process; Stage 1 – formal face to face interview with Management Team. Stage 2 (subject to successful completion of Stage 1) – participation in group session supporting a member of the project delivery team.
