Supporting female and male victims of domestic abuse in Swindon
Description
As an organisation we have been helping thousands of victims of domestic abuse since 1975. We are based in Swindon and can offer refuge accommodation to 22 families in self contained flats, within a secure purpose built complex. In the community, we can support a case load of up to 200 victims (male and female) and their dependents. We operate a 24-hr helpline which is always answered directly by a trained advisor and not by an answerphone, 365 days of the year. Outside of normal office hours, we are on call for the county of Wiltshire, and work closely with Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police and other local agencies. We are also part of the Rail to Refuge scheme that provides free travel to a place of safety.
