Volunteer recycling coordinator

Who are Upcycle?
Upcycle is an established charity with locations in the Forest of Dean and Chepstow. We use the model of collecting people’s donated furniture, household and kid’s items and selling them back to the public at affordable prices. We also work with social services, children’s services, and other charities to provide items to people in desperate need.
What is a recycling coordinator?
From September onwards, Upcycle Swindon are looking for friendly, energetic volunteers to work with our team to help us sort through household donations and get them ready to display and sell in our warehouse, as well as general cleaning and tidying. You may also be involved in serving customers and answering the phone, dependent on what you feel comfortable doing. Upcycle receive large donations of bric-a-brac, kitchen wares, linen, curtains, and kid’s items that all need to be sorted for quality, cleaned, and priced for sale.
We also receive items such as beds and wardrobes which arrive in pieces and need assembling for display. Any skills you have in fixing wooden furniture would also be useful, but this skill is not essential. As part of our charity role, we work with social service to help those in desperate need and this can involve getting together items needed for a new home from our stock.
We are looking for volunteers who are:
• Friendly
• Energetic
• Interested in recycling.
• Good at working as part of a team.
As a charity we are fully inclusive and welcome all willing volunteers of all abilities, nationalities, and
backgrounds.
