What do our volunteers do?
The Friendship circle volunteers are there to help people become more socially interactive and to help develp social skills.
About The Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle enriches the lives of adults with learning/physical disabilites/mental health through fully intergrated social and recreational experiences. The club provides a safe place where members can come and socialise with their friends, as well as having the opportunity to make new ones. Everything we do is fully inclusive and is supported by our volunteers.
When can I do this?
Thursday 10.30 – 2.30
What are the practical conditarations ?
You muat be over 18 and willing to undertake a DBS
What will you get out of it?
- The satisfaction that you are helping someone develop/enhance their social skills and communitcation, so giving them further opportunites to socially intergrate
- A induction to give an overview of The Friendship Circle
- Relevant training, such as Safeguarding
- Working as part of a tem
- Opportunities to bring your skills and ideas to help further develop The Friendship Circle
What we are looking for:
- Friendly, and enjoy working with people with disabilities
- Able to facilitate conversations and make new members feel welcome
- Attentive about the safety of members and other volunteers
- To remain impartial
- Flexibility and willing to undertake agreed tasks/activities
