Chair of Trustees - Swindon Food Collective

Swindon Food Collective is an independent charity that serves people in Swindon and surrounding areas who are experiencing financial hardship and struggling to provide food for themselves, their families or dependents, through a warehouse and 11 distribution centers across the town. Their services are needed now more than ever and in the last year, they helped nearly 11,000 people, of which over a quarter were children.

Their committed Board of Trustees is seeking a new Chair of Trustees with strong leadership and business skills who can take the organisation forward for the next stage of its development, building on the solid foundations already established. The Chair of Trustees upholds their values and mission and provides leadership to the organisation, building on the strengths of their trustees, staff and volunteers to create a stronger organisation for the benefit of the families and individuals we support.

They estimate a time commitment of 10-15 hours per month, although as a small charity, there will be times when the Chair will need to be actively involved in the work of Swindon Food Collective beyond preparation and attendance at monthly Board meetings. This may require meeting with funders, business planning, and advising on operational or other issues in which the Chair has special expertise.

This role is unpaid however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed, and administrative support will be available if required.

Please email them at admin@swindonfoodcollective.org for a full role description and application instructions.

Closing date is 6th August 2023
