Headway Swindon & District is delighted to announce that we have been successfully recommissioned by Swindon Borough Council to provide specialist Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) services for residents across Swindon, effective 1st April 2026.
This recommissioning reflects the essential role Headway Swindon plays in supporting adults living with the long‑term effects of brain injury, and the strong, positive outcomes our services continues to deliver for individuals, families and the wider community.
Headway provide:
Cognitive Rehabilitation – Helping individuals rebuild skills such as memory, attention, planning, problem‑solving, and daily living abilities.
Therapeutic and Structured Activities – Offering individual and group sessions that promote wellbeing, confidence, social connection and skill development.
Community Reintegration – Supporting people to regain independence, participate in community life and rebuild confidence at a pace that suits them.
Family and Carer Support – Providing advice, education and emotional support for families adapting to life after brain injury.
Hospital Liaison – Supporting individuals and families from the earliest stages of injury, working closely with hospital teams to ensure smooth transitions into community‑based support and providing guidance on next steps.
