Short Description
We provide furniture to people in emergency situations, helping families and individuals on a low income, the recently rehoused homeless, those escaping domestic abuse, hospital discharges and those relocating due to a house fire, etc, with the provision of furniture for low or no cost. We often require volunteers for our van team, and occasionally shop staff volunteers.
Description

Gateway Furniture is part of Gateway Church, and provides furniture, white goods and home starter packs to people in need. They have been helping the people of Swindon with furniture in emergency situations since 2009 via their referral service. Those referred in, by supporting organisations, can be provided with up to four items of furniture for as little as the cost of delivery. The areas that they support include Swindon and extend to Highworth, Purton, Royal Wootton Bassett, Lydiard Millicent, Cricklade and Wanborough.

In 2013 they opened the Gateway Furniture charity shop, in Havelock Square, Swindon. Here, they sell high quality, second-hand furniture to the general public, run their referral service and encourage re-use by offering free books, as well as CDs and DVDs.

Gateway Furniture is a local Christian charity, that strives to build community and give support to those most in need, in and around Swindon.

Their efforts help local people and the environment, by reusing good quality items that may otherwise have ended up going to landfill.
