Vacancy -Volunteering Support Assistant

Fixed Term Contract until March 2019 with a possibility of extension

Hours: Monday – Thursday 26 hours a week with occasional Friday and evening /weekend

Salary: £18,200 pro rata

Volunteer Centre Swindon is a nationally accredited Volunteer Development Agency that works across Swindon and surrounding area. It supports organisations to recruit, manage and support volunteers. It also works to promote and broker volunteering to individuals and groups along with providing good practice advice on volunteering.

To support the delivery of projects and work that develop volunteering in and around Swindon. This will be through working on the delivery of Building Bridges, Involve Swindon and other work to support the work of the Centre.

The post holder will help with interviewing potential volunteers, liaising with local volunteer involving organisations, promoting volunteering along with supporting in house volunteers and supported volunteering groups. Part of the role will also be to provide administrative support to the Centre

This role is partly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities programme and the post holder will be partly employed on the programme delivery.

Building Bridges is a partnership of organisations, led by Community First, that has come together to deliver the Building Better Opportunities Programme across Swindon and Wiltshire.
