Four Month fixed Term Contract from April – July (with possible extension subject to funding).
£21,734 p.a. pro rata 16 hours per week (extra hours may be available)
Swindon Advocacy Movement (SAM) has a well established reputation of providing a range of advocacy services for people with care and support needs in Swindon. We are passionate about speaking out for the most vulnerable in our society and have created a flexible and responsive advocacy service enabling children, young people and adults to access their rights within education, health and social care services.
We are now looking for an Independent Supporter to join our friendly and dedicated Independent Support Team working with children and young people with SEND and their families/carers.
We need non-judgemental, compassionate people who enjoy working with others to make positive change happen.
Successful candidates will have:
- Understanding and experience of, and empathy with, the issues facing children and young people with SEND and their families.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds and with different communication needs.
- Educated to level 3 or above e.g. A’ levels, BTEC or equivalent.
We offer a complete package of support, supervision and training.
Successful candidates must complete national Independent Supporter training.
