Upcoming Training

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Level 2

The importance of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations cannot be overlooked, nor the importance of an employee holding a COSHH qualification. For instance, thousands of individuals are made ill each year as a direct result of substances that are hazardous to health. Learners achieving this qualification will understand the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances, and the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure that risks are properly controlled.
This course is delivered by a qualified trainer registered with Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance.

Date Time Location Cost
Wednesday 6th September 1pm – 5pm Voluntary Action Swindon £50

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2

All organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees who possess a first aid qualification in order to fulfil their first aid needs at all times. Employers must ensure that their provision is ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances’. It is the employer’s responsibility to decide what the requirements of the organisation are by assessing any specific work hazards and ensuring that sufficient equipment, facilities and personnel are available to deal with the consequences of these hazards.
This course is delivered by a qualified trainer registered with Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance.

Fire Safety Level 2

General fire safety in England and Wales is maintained through compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The legislation implements a risk-based approach to fire safety in community, industrial and business premises. It requires the responsible person (usually the employer, owner or occupier) to carry out a fire safety risk assessment, implement appropriate fire precautionary and protection measures and to maintain a fire management plan. All members of staff have a role to play in fire safety and the fire safety qualifications support these various roles.

First Aid at Work Level 3

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

Food Safety Level 2

The law requires that all food handlers need to be trained according to their food handling work activities. Should an employee achieve a Highfield Food Safety qualification, which is suitable for the work they do, it will assist food business operators in proving that they have displayed due diligence and are therefore compliant in the eyes of the law.

With the constant changes within Health and Safety legislation, it has never been more important to ensure compliance in this field. Contravening this legislation can result in prosecution, with the possibility of an unlimited fine or even imprisonment. All employers are required to have the correct systems in place to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for employees and any other people who may be affected by their business activities.
