James’ role is to manage all aspects of the buildings we are responsible for to a high standard of Health & Safety. This includes 1 John Street which we own and sub let to four charity tenants and includes the running of our public facing reception. We also run Sanford House plus the small separate caretakers cottage both owned by Swindon Borough Council but which we run as a Community Hub on their behalf under agreement and subject to a head lease. Sanford House and the separate Cottage currently houses the activities of twelve separate charities. As well as managing all our building logistics, James also manages the Swindon Shopmobility Service which operates from its site in the car park of Sanford House. This service opens 6 days a week enabling people with mobility issues to continue to access the town centre facilities independently. James is assisted in these roles by three members of part time staff. In addition James produces our regular newsletter VASid, keeps our website up to date, provides secretariat support to the Swindon Sports Forum and supports our volunteers who help with reception duties at John Street and with the Shopmobility service.
