Switch On To Swindon
Switch On To Swindon is the overarching campaign designed to highlight all the strengths of Swindon, and a network of enthusiastic Ambassadors who wish to spread the positive word. It is a coordinated effort to let the rest of the country know that we have a great deal to offer, and a fantastic story to tell. Whilst supported by Swindon Borough Council, their Place Marketing Board is made up purely of local business individuals, and their Ambassador network is made up a collection of businesses, individuals, residents and community groups, including Voluntary Action Swindon.
An Ambassador is someone who has registered their details with us, and ready to promote Swindon enthusiastically in their everyday life. You can sign up completely free of charge here: http://switchontoswindon.com/login/?action=register
As an Ambassador, you will have access to a range of free marketing resources, factual information, high quality images/videos, and be kept updated with frequent networking events.
Why Become an Ambassador?
The network will bring organisations and individuals together on behalf Swindon and it will also provide access to services and support that will impact on your success.
Networking opportunities – Ambassadors will be part of and have access to a powerful network of influencers and decision makers through regular meetings and online forums. Speakers will range from key players leading the area’s major developments to the organisations that are shaping the place’s future.
Ambassadors will be a highly regarded group in the area, representative of the place and as such their opinion and support will be sought, they will hear news of developments first and often will be the first names on key invitation lists.
Raising your organisation’s profile – the Ambassador network will have the opportunity to raise their profile through:
- Circulation of news stories via regular e-newsletters
- Using social media and discussion forums
- Profiling on the place’s website
- Hosting meetings
- Linked activity with local, regional and national media
