Opportunity to join the Board of Voluntary Action Swindon

We are pleased to have a settled and capable Board of Trustees who are working hard to ensure that VAS is sustainable and is doing the right things to support the voluntary sector in Swindon.

However, after nearly three years of little change in the composition of the Board, we believe it is the right time to look at strengthening its membership. The VAS constitution allows us to co-opt up to two Trustees between AGMs and so this is the route by which we want to recruit ‘new blood’ to the Board. Co-opted Trustees will then be put forward for election by members at the next AGM.

Our priority is to strengthen the skills available on the Board. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have skills and experience in legal matters; marketing and communications; or quality standards and control. In selecting Trustees, we are keen to ensure a move towards a Board that reflects the diverse Swindon communities and has a more balanced gender mix.

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter to:

If you would like an informal discussion, please contact Richard (on 01793 538398, or by email at richard@vas-swindon.org), and he or I will be happy to talk through how the Board works and what is involved in being a Trustee.

I would also be grateful if you could circulate this through any of your relevant networks.
