Citizens Advice Swindon are looking to recruit 2 new members of staff to join their team. They are looking to recruit someone in each of the following positions:

Welfare Benefits Caseworker

Salary: £ 22,297 – £24,472 pro rata (Actual £6,629- £7,275)

Hours: 11 hours per week

Citizens Advice Swindon is providing a new service to support clients, referred through the MS Therapy Centre in Swindon, with benefits advice and casework. The service is aimed at clients with MS and other neurological conditions.

You will provide full benefits advice and assist clients in making initial applications for appropriate benefits and challenge decisions when required.

To be successful in this post you will need:

1. experience of undertaking welfare benefits casework including the preparation of submissions to tribunal with particular emphasis on ESA and PIP

2. excellent written and verbal communication skills

3. to be sensitive to the needs of the client group

Money Mentor Vacancies

Salary: £21,530 – £22,936 pro rata (Actual £13,092- £13,947)

Hours: 22.5 per week x 2

Contract: 1 year fixed term

Citizens Advice Swindon is developing an exciting new project aimed at helping people make the most of their money, and we have two new vacancies for Money Mentors.

Working primarily with people affected by the Benefit Cap or struggling to maintain their tenancy, our Money Mentors will provide one to one advice and support in money management, debt and income maximisation.

We are looking for two proactive and organised advisers to help develop and deliver this new service to eligible clients. The post holders will work closely with Swindon Borough Council to build referral relationships and encourage take up of the project.

To be successful in this post you will need:

1. experience of delivering debt and budgeting advice to individuals

2. an excellent understanding of the skills and confidence required to manage money effectively

3. to meet the required competences of a Citizens Advice Adviser

4. to possess excellent communication and administrative skills

Interview date Monday 10th October 2016
