Funding Opportunity from the West of England AHSN

The West of England AHSN I’m delighted to invite organisations from the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to submit proposals for funding between £500 and £10,000 to strengthen links with public contributors and encourage innovation using hyvr – the online social media platform for healthcare.

hyvr has been developed by the West of England AHSN as a platform where users can discuss innovations and health related issues with like-minded people in groups called ‘hives’. On going dialogue on hyvr between the public and other collaborators will seek to accelerate the development of new and relevant healthcare initiatives including products, gadgets and new ways of working, as well as a forum for any health or care topic discussion.

Successful proposals will achieve four objectives:

The Coral Samuel Charitable Trust

Grants for registered charities carrying out educational, welfare and cultural projects (applications may be made at any time)

The Coral Samuel Charitable Trust provides grants to registered charities throughout the UK for projects that promote:

Previous grants have been for between £1,000 and £25,000.

During the year ending 5 April 2017 the Trust’s charitable expenditure was £296,985

There is no requirement for match funding.

Past awards have included:

A full list of awards made during the year can usually be found towards the end of the Trust’s annual accounts. While the 2017 accounts have not yet been posted on the Charity Commission site, this LINK takes you to the accounts for 2016 (see pages 10-11 for a list of funded organisations).

Funding is not available for individuals.

Foodie Fundraising Opportunity for Charities & Groups

Charities, community groups and good causes are being offered support with events to help them raise funds.

Two restaurants in Swindon (Bengal Square in Peatmoor and Mantra in Old Town) are offering Swindon and Wiltshire charities, community groups and good causes support with fundraising by hosting a charity night at one of the two restaurants.

This is at no cost the the charity or group and the charity/group gets to keep all the profits from the event.
