VCSE Health and Social Care Conference
The NHS Five Year Forward View has called for providers and commissioners to embrace new models of care to meet the population’s health needs. These models, which are being piloted by vanguards across the country, include groups of GP practices coming together to offer a wider range of services (multispecialty community providers (MCPs)), and single entities taking responsibility for delivery of the full range of primary, community and mental health services (primary and acute care systems (PACs)). But which of these models will make sense in the west of England? And what role can the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector play in supporting the choice and implementation of the models?
This all-day conference will bring together commissioners and voluntary providers from across the west of England. Through presentations and workshops the aim is to enable participants to:
- Find out about the models of care proposed in the NHS Five Year Forward View
- Understand the context for the new models of care
- Understand the implications for VCSE organisations of the new models of care and explore where organisations might link in
- Identify some next steps in engaging with the development of the new models of care at a local level
The conference takes place on 27th March 2017, 10am to 4pm, at the Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Bristol BS16 2QQ.
The conference is open to health and social care VCSE groups from B&NES, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, South Glos and Swindon. Places are limited so early booking is recommended. Please book online at http://bit.ly/2lMfDMd
