Loneliness & Isolation Workshop & Networking Breakfast
Are you interested in helping with Loneliness and Isolation in your community?
Eastcott Community Organisation have organised a workshop and breakfast networking session to be held on 13th-14th May 2017. Organisations and groups are very welcome to join one or both sessions.
Background for the sessions:
The Workshop and Networking Breakfast will be run by Tracey Robbins, Community Programme Delivery Manager at Eden Project Communities. Tracey has a wealth of experience in the area of loneliness and isolation. The sessions are organised by Eastcott Community Organisation, a small community group and registered charity in the Eastcott area of Swindon.
Venue: Savernake Street Social Hall, Savernake Street, Swindon SN1 3LZ
Saturday 13th May 10am – 4pm
Workshop: ‘Loneliness – Why are we lonely and what we can do within our communities?’
Objective: Come away from the day with some practical ideas that residents can use in their community to help address isolation and loneliness, based on research and examples of what has happened elsewhere.
Presentation and short video, followed by small group work exploring loneliness and looking at what helps and what hinders and what people can do about it.
Plenary and promises/pledges for action.
Cost: £25 per participant for charity/community group, £50 other
Lunch arrangements to be agreed – may be a bring & share lunch if participants would like this.
Sunday 14th May – 9-11am
Opportunity to talk about specific challenges, through an ‘Open surgery’ type session
Cost £10 per participant for charity/community group, £15 other
To include toast, cereal etc
Who are the sessions suitable for?
Anyone interested in helping address loneliness in communities, whether in an unpaid or paid capacity.
Those already involved in a project (or planning to be) may find the sessions most relevant.

Payment can be made by cheque payable to ‘Eastcott Community Organisation’ or by BACS. At this stage Eastcott Community Organisation will hold places for 3 weeks to enable you to make payment.
